Florence, SC resident Chris Walters has considered himself an artist for most of his life. He studied art and art history at Francis Marion University during the 1990's. He went on to a career in law enforcement, having worked with the Florence Police Dept since 1999 to the present as a patrol sergeant. Chris' simple philosophy towards art has always been, "draw or paint what you see," he says. "Trust what light is doing, and capture something there in the contrasts." He is a fan of artists ranging from Leonardo Da Vinci & Salvador Dali to H.R. Giger & modern comic book artists like Jim Lee and Walter Simonson.
Chris' work has been in many local SC art competitions and museums. He won the Director's Award given by the Art Trail Gallery in 2015. His work has been selected to be displayed at the Florence County Museum. His art resides in private collections all over the southeast of the United States, and as far west as Arizona. He also has works in private collections in England and Japan. Chris lives and works in Florence, SC with his wife Jennifer and their two children.
